Chicago Bears Blue-Chip Player: Robert Quinn, EDGE
On the opposite side of Khalil Mack is Robert Quinn. Just like Mack, Quinn is getting up there in age. We were ready to run him out of town after he finished with only two sacks in his first season in Chicago. Now, in his sophomore season with the Bears, Quinn set the franchise single-season sack record. He finished with 18.5 sacks, beating Richard Dent’s prior record of 17.5.
Honestly, I don’t think we can expect this type of season out of Quinn again in 2022, but double-digit sacks should not be out of the question. Prior to coming to Chicago, Quinn was coming off of an 11.5 sack season. Robert Quinn is a great EDGE defender and he’s not going to be cut or traded with his current contract.
My dream scenario is seeing both Quinn and Mack play all 17 games next season. These two should be able to wreak havoc once again. Now, we just need to see the corners find a way to come up with more turnovers and the offense to be better than average.
