Chicago Bears pair Romeo Doubs with Darnell Mooney at WR

Their first pick in the draft doesn’t come until the third round, in this mock specifically, so the Bears need to make sure they pick an impact player. They do exactly that by taking wide receiver Romeo Doubs out of Nevada.

Doubs stands 6-foot-2, weighing in around 200 pounds. The Nevada standout possesses lethal speed, which is something that will fit the mold of what Eberflus wants in his players. Doubs is not just fast, but he is quick. He has the ability to take a quick route for chunk yardage — and in a hurry.

In today’s NFL, it certainly helps to have a guy on your team who can excel at yardage after the catch. Looking at Deebo Samuel and Cooper Kupp, two of the best weapons in all of football, the Bears should try to find someone who can do some similar things with the ball in their hands.

Doubs has the ability to do just that. He is explosive with the ball in his hands and can make defenders miss with ease. This is someone who would come in and immediately make noise. Having Doubs and Darnell Mooney — two guys with tremendous speed — would be a blast to watch with Fields at the helm.

Over the past two seasons, Doubs has caught 138 passes for 2,111 yards and 20 touchdowns.
