The Chicago Bears turn their attention to help on the line
Now that Fields has a couple of playmakers around him, it’s time to dig into finding help up front. The Bears will likely go after a free agent or two on the offensive line, therefore it would not be the end of the world to see the Bears begin to address the position in the fourth round — especially with a player like Dylan Parham on the board.
Parham is just 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, but he plays far bigger than his size. Certainly, Parham has room to add some weight, and he most definitely will do so. But, even at his size, Parham wins a lot of battles based on his hand technique and strong lower half.
Parham’s ability to get lower than his man is a big reason he wins in the trenches. At the pro level, he’ll have to add more strength to his upper body — and again, he likely knows this and will do so. But, to have much of what he already has figured out is a luxury for someone his size.
Having experience as a right tackle for Memphis in the past, Parham’s knowledge and flexibility make him appealing. He obviously fits better at guard, but knowing different assignments and looks that the defenses could give his teammates is always a positive.
Lastly, Parham is someone the Bears could use to pull if they opted to. Pulling and delivering the first hit is something you’ll see a lot from Parham’s college tape.
