3 free agent safeties the Chicago Bears should target

The Chicago Bears should target Quandre Diggs in free agency
Speaking of physicality, Quandre Diggs would give the Bears a bit of that. But, where Diggs has really excelled over the past two seasons is in the takeaway column. Diggs has picked off 10 passes over the past two seasons en route to a pair of Pro Bowl nods, making him a very strong target for the Bears this spring.
Diggs has experience playing both cornerback and safety, so he’s well-versed. Of course, in the Bears’ instance, he’d be coming in and playing next to Jackson. The Bears are likely pretty familiar with Diggs, too, as he spent the first three and a half years of his career with the Detroit Lions, from 2015-to 2018.
It wasn’t until he found his place in Seattle, though, that his career really took off. Last year, Diggs totaled a career-high 94 tackles along with those five picks and seven passes defended.
Signing Diggs would be a huge victory for the Bears and would give them the security on the back end that they have long needed. The job wouldn’t be done, as they still need help at cornerback. But, Diggs’ presence would immediately ease the pain.
