There is no secret that the Chicago Bears will need to add some bodies this offseason. The team has some serious holes and even with a few specific cap casualties and roughly $45 to $50 million in salary cap space, the team will struggle to fill the 53-man roster with high-quality players. Ryan Poles will need to work his magic this offseason and probably cannot overspend on the top free agents. Instead, he will need to look at the second tier or second wave of free agents.

What is nice about the Chicago Bears’ new regime is that the new general manager, new head coach, new offensive coordinator, and new assistant general manager all came from different teams. This means the free agent player pool might be a little larger for the Bears this offseason.

Free agents who may decide to follow Matt Eberflus to the Chicago Bears

We will start with players who might have a direct connection to Matt Eberflus. Eberflus was hired to replace Matt Nagy and there are already some vast differences. First of all, Nagy struggled with accountability. Everything that we have heard from Eberflus says that he is not going to put up with slackers.

It might seem ridiculous how he focuses on his H.I.T.S. acronym as a way to keep his players in line, but no matter how hokey it may sound, it’s better than what we’ve seen the last four years. We have also heard many of his former players speak on how they bought into the idea, plus his crazy ball hawk shirt idea too. These are a few of his former players who might want to follow him to Chicago.
