The Chicago Bears could target Rams CB, Darious Williams

Could the Chicago Bears look the Rams for a new cornerback? Darious Williams is only 28 years old and should have a few good years left in the tank. Williams started 13 games in 2020 and 13 games this season. Last year he had four interceptions, but couldn’t get his hands on any footballs this year.

What Williams was able to do is get a career-high in tackles with 71. That number includes 60 solo tackles. The year before, with his four interceptions, Williams only had 44 total tackles (37 solos). Let’s take a look at some more advanced stats too in order to see what was a better year for Williams.

In 2020, Williams only allowed receivers to catch 54.2% of their balls. That number jumped to 62.0% this past year. Quarterbacks saw a 63.9 QB rating when targeting Williams in 2019. However, in 2020, quarterbacks were seeing a 95.8 QB rating when throwing in Williams’ direction. All of these numbers would be better than what we saw from the Chicago Bears CB2 this season.
