Complete Chicago Bears Mock Offseason 2022: Free Agency and NFL Draft
By Ryan Olson
The Chicago Bears will need a similar 2022 NFL Draft to this mock draft
- Round 2 Pick 39: George Pickens, WR – Georgia
- Round 3 Pick 71: Coby Bryant, CB – Cincinnati
- Round 4 Pick 146: Jack Sanborn, ILB – Wisconsin
- Round 4 Pick 148: Smoke Monday, S – Auburn
- Round 5 Pick 195: Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, EDGE – Notre Dame
- Round 7 Pick 236: Ty Chandler, RB – North Carolina
George Pickens is one of my favorite receivers in the draft and one of the most talented. After an ACL tear in the spring, he rehabbed and was able to make it back before the end of the season and make some big plays in the National Championship. Pickens in college showed the best hands in college football, as well as some of the best tracking, Chicago would love the electricity that he brings on an everyday basis. Pickens would be the WR4 in the offense in year one but could step into a bigger role if Valdes-Scantling were to depart after year one in Chicago.
Coby Bryant was the counterpart to Sauce Gardner on a lockdown Cincinnati defense that was the backbone behind their run to the playoffs. Bryant is one of my favorite corners in the draft and showed out on the big stage allowing two catches for 18 years against Alabama in the playoffs. Bryant is a well-rounded cornerback that would be an amazing round three value.
Jack Sanborn played in a great college defense and was the anchor of the Badger defense for all of his years. Sanborn is a nasty physical linebacker who isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty. Sanborn would fill in as the strongside linebacker right away, moving Kwon Alexander to the MIKE linebacker, and Roquan Smith back to his true position, the WILL linebacker. By picking up Sanborn it would help enable Roquan Smith who has never been alongside anyone even close to his caliber for a long time.
Smoke Monday, the best name in football, and if you are a fan of the SEC you know how much Auburn fans love Monday. Monday is one of the most hard-hitting and savage safeties in the NFL that lays the boom on every hit, Monday is best known for racking up targeting penalties, but make no mistake, Monday is a very solid coverage safety, especially in man coverage.
Tagovailoa-Amosa is a 4-3 EDGE rusher, and Ty Chandler is an older prospect at running back which will be the reason why his draft stock is so low, but Chandler is an impressive back nonetheless.
