The Chicago Bears could pursue free agency George Odum

A highly-underrated name to watch in free agency is going to be safety George Odum. After going undrafted back in 2018 out of Central Arkansas, Odum made a name for himself on special teams.

In 2021, Odum led the NFL in special teams tackles and was named an All Pro. Because of that year, alone, he’ll have interest in free agency. Whether he comes in and competes for a starting job next to Eddie Jackson, or becomes the Bears’ special teams ace, Odum would be worth signing.

The Bears have to find guys who give effort, and Odum would be a tone-setter. One of the problems for Chicago, especially on defense, has been a lack of effort on every single down. Defensively, the Bears are a team that saw a ton of missed tackles in their secondary last year.

Odum would come in and immediately make his presence felt on special teams, if not as a possible starter. He would also come very cheap, especially compared to this next free agent safety.
