Ryan Poles gets big value in this Chicago Bears 2022 Mock Draft
By Ryan Heckman
Round 5, Pick 144: The Chicago Bears select Coastal Carolina wide receiver Jaivon Heiligh
Back to the offense we go, as the Bears again add a receiver to the fold with Coastal Carolina’s Jaivon Heiligh. After finding their second outside receiver in Tolbert, the Bears now find a guy who can play both outside and in the slot with Heiligh.
At 6-foot, 200 pounds, Heiligh has good size and strength built into his frame. But, where he really wins is with his footwork. Heiligh is one known for his quick-twitch ability. He’s excellent off the line of scrimmage and uses his body to get open in space.
Over the past two seasons with Coastal Carolina, Heiligh caught 131 passes for 2,128 yards and 17 touchdowns.
With Eberflus focusing on speed, quickness and effort, this is a home run of a pick, here. Heiligh could come in and make an immediate impact, almost like Mooney did two years ago. Quite honestly, Heiligh, Mooney and Tolbert would give the Bears a much-needed long-term core at wide receiver, and two of them came out of the fifth round.
Fields would now have plenty of speed at the position, but also guys who can win with their body and get open, along with making moves after the catch.
