The Chicago Bears could trade Robert Quinn to the Indianapolis Colts

Ironically enough, this last scenario sees Quinn leave the Bears for Matt Eberflus’ old team, the Indianapolis Colts. With all the talk about the defensive-minded Eberflus, the Colts only finished with 33.0 sacks in 2021, which was the eighth-worst mark in football. Pairing Quinn with stud linebacker Darius Leonard would give Indy a formidable duo.

The Colts have quite a few free agents within their front seven, so adding Quinn would be one sure thing they could count on going into the rest of the offseason. Indianapolis’ own free agents upfront includes defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad, outside linebacker Zaire Franklin, defensive end Isaac Rochell, defensive tackle Taylor Stallworth, outside linebacker Matthew Adams, and defensive end Kemoko Turay.

In exchange for Quinn and a 2023 sixth-rounder, the Bears would get the Colts’ third-round pick in this year’s draft (pick 82). That’s the coveted third top-100 pick for Poles and the Bears, who could then find three impact players in this year’s draft.

Any of these deals would benefit the Bears in the immediate future, especially because of the lack of draft capital. Losing Quinn might hurt, but again, he is not guaranteed to put up the same production again in 2022. Poles is thinking about the future, here.
