Free Agent Ryan Poles Could Bring to the Chicago Bears: Mitchell Schwartz, OT

Remember when I talked about how the Kansas City Chiefs struggled to block for Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl last year? That was mostly due to Eric Fisher going down with his Achilles in the fourth quarter of the AFC Championship game. Well, the other reason is that the team was without starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz.

Mitchell Schwartz did not get signed this offseason in the same way that Eric Fisher did. Instead, he did some media work. That said, he has not ruled out the idea of going back to the NFL and has not officially retired.

If Ryan Poles were to sign with the Chicago Bears this offseason, then it would probably be as a depth signing. It also would likely be a short-term deal worth a minimal amount of money to see just how well he recovered from his back injury in 2020.
