The Chicago Bears could pursue free agent wide receiver Will Fuller

The wide receiver position is going to look very different in Chicago than it did a year ago. With Allen Robinson leaving, the Bears will be looking at Darnell Mooney as their number one option — for now, at least.

Other than Mooney, it’s just Dazz Newsome as the next man under contract. Poles is going to have to decide whether to bring back a slew of receivers: Damiere Byrd, Marquise Goodwin and Jakeem Grant.

With Fields being such a deep ball enthusiast, though, one particular free agent may attract the Bears.

Will Fuller, when healthy, is arguably the best deep threat in the NFL. That caveat is a big one, though, as Fuller has never played a full season over his 6-year career. Last year, he appeared in just two games with the Miami Dolphins before suffering a season-ending finger injury.

Fuller has also sustained other serious injuries such as a torn ACL during his career, and at this point, seems to be made of glass. Again, he’s phenomenal when on the field. His last lengthy season came in 2020 when he played in 11 games and caught eight touchdowns. That’s a pretty good ratio, but the fact that he can’t be counted on to stay healthy is a huge risk the Bears would be taking.
