5 risky free agents the Chicago Bears could pursue

The Chicago Bears could pursue free agent guard Andrew Norwell
The number one area to look at this offseason, if you’re a Bears fan, is upfront on the offensive line. With Poles coming in and having experience as a former offensive lineman, he is going to make this his top priority. Protecting Justin Fields is at the top of the list, and Poles knows it.
Andrew Norwell is one of the better free agent guards available this offseason. But, he’s coming off an enormous contract worth over $66 million. Last year, Pro Football Focus graded him out at 66.7, which is in the green if you’re familiar with their grading system.
However, it’s barely in the green. He was fine last year. He wasn’t terrific, but he wasn’t bad. Norwell was pretty good. But, two questions must be asked here. First, are the Bears looking to add a “pretty good” solution at guard? Or, do they want to find a long-term solution that will not be on the downward trend?
Second, what kind of contract is Norwell going to want this time around? If it’s anything like his most recent one, then Poles should pass. He’s a risk because he’s going to turn 31 mid-season this year, and you typically don’t hand out a lucrative deal to a guy on the opposite side of 30.
