5 risky free agents the Chicago Bears could pursue

The Chicago Bears could pursue free agent tight end Evan Engram
This is what many fans would call “a total Bears move.” Now, hopefully, this type of move is behind the organization. But, for years, it’s seemed as though these types of moves have followed the franchise no matter who is in charge.
Here’s the deal: Evan Engram is an above-average tight end when he’s healthy and targeted. The problem, as it is with many of these guys on the list, is that he’s rarely healthy.
Engram is a phenomenal athlete and has a tremendous catch radius. He’s shown over and over again that he can make the spectacular play. But, he’s also had issues with drops in big moments. That, along with his health history, should be enough for the Bears to pass on him in free agency.
The Bears do need another tight end now that Jimmy Graham will be gone. Cole Kmet is the starter, but if he doesn’t take a step further in his third year, he’ll run the risk of being replaced. The Bears need to find another legitimate tight end this year, to pair with Kmet.
Should the Bears sign any of these five free agents, just beware of the worst-case scenario. Four of them could miss the entire season due to injury and no one would be surprised. Poles should be very wary of spending significant money, here.
