5 possible Allen Robinson replacements Chicago Bears could pursue
By Ryan Heckman
For the Chicago Bears, this offseason is all about Justin Fields. Sure, there are other areas to improve, specifically on defense.
But, for general manager Ryan Poles, his first offseason in Chicago is about building around his franchise quarterback. He’ll have a tall task ahead of him, too, in that department.
The Bears will be moving on from wide receiver Allen Robinson after four seasons in Chicago, and overall, he’ll leave a big void in that receiving group. After playing the 2021 season on the franchise tag, it’s assumed the Bears will see Robinson walk in free agency after a severed relationship between him and the team.
While the recent talk is about some goofy rumors stating that Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace purposely schemed him out of the offense, the reality is that it doesn’t matter. Robinson is as good as gone and the Bears have to replace him, period.
The Chicago Bears have plenty of options in free agency and the NFL Draft to replace Allen Robinson
The wide receiver market in free agency will be Poles’ first chance at finding a replacement for Robinson. The legal tampering period begins March 14, with the new league year beginning March 16 when deals can officially be announced.
Just a couple of weeks away from free agency, Bears fans are already identifying some key free agents they’d like the team to pursue.
If the Bears do not go the free agency route, they could opt to use one of their five, precious draft picks. This year’s draft class is loaded at wide receiver, so maybe that’s the route Poles decides to go.
Whether it’s via free agency or the draft, the Bears have a lot of options. These five might just be the most logical.
