The craziest, most out-of-the-box 2022 Chicago Bears mock draft
The Chicago Bears still have a second-round pick to use on an IOL
With two new weapons at wide receiver, Ryan Poles goes back to his roots as an offensive lineman. Not only does he select a lineman with the team’s second-round pick, but he goes back to his old alma mater Boston College.
I have to be honest, I am still a little stunned that the Chicago Bears were able to keep their second-round pick while also acquiring two first-rounders this year. To still land Zion Johnson at 39 overall, is pretty amazing. He is a top-three prospect on the interior offensive line.
Johnson had a solid tape to begin with, but he really showed up at the Senior Bowl and during the Senior Bowl practices. He saw time playing center too, which could help land him a higher draft pick due to his versatility. Throwing out the two trades for the first two picks, Johnson is a guy I have pegged as an option for the team at 39, even though I’d prefer a wide receiver. With two receivers already locked up, Johnson here would be a dream come true.
