3. Jakeem Grant, Chicago Bears WR

The Chicago Bears traded for Jakeem Grant, mainly because they realized that Tarik Cohen had another setback, and they also needed to take Khalil Herbert off of return duty to play him more on offense.

The move ended up being a decent success, although they lost a draft pick that Ryan Pace does not have to worry about. The pick is already a sunk cost, but Ryan Poles may be smart to get the most out of Jakeem Grant by locking him up before he can hit free agency.

The big key with Grant is his return capability. He is not quite Cordarlle Patterson but is the next best thing on special teams. The other is that he is a direct replacement for Tarik Cohen. Cohen is a running back that lines up out wide, while Grant is a wideout that can move into the backfield.

The Bears are likely to move on from Cohen, and if they can get Grant to come back for the money they will save on Cohen, or even less, then that is an upgrade that truly did not hurt their cap situation.
