The Chicago Bears should trade back with the San Francisco 49ers

We all know that the San Francisco 49ers are always up for negotiations. General manager John Lynch has not been bashful about wheeling and dealing since taking over his position. There was, of course, the infamous Mitchell Trubisky trade between Chicago and San Francisco back in 2017, which will forever be talked about for various reasons.

Ryan Poles has mentioned that he is always looking to acquire additional draft capital, and especially in the Bears’ situation, this one makes sense.

In this deal, the Bears would trade back in the third round with the 49ers. San Francisco gets the Bears’ no. 71 overall selection and sends their own third-rounder (no. 93) back to Chicago, along with their fifth-round pick this year (no. 171).

This doesn’t get the Bears to their ultimate goal of totaling three top-100 picks, as many have talked about the team doing. But, it does at least net them another pick in this year’s draft. This would be just one of a few different draft-day trades Poles could look at, so the possibility of ending up with three top-100 picks is still there.

In the late third, that’s where the Bears might find someone like wide receiver Skyy Moore or guard Dylan Parham, both of whom have been mocked to the Bears by fans in recent discussions.
