5 mid-tier free agent receivers the Chicago Bears should sign

The Chicago Bears should sign wide receiver Allen Lazard
A rather inexpensive option in this group, Allen Lazard’s future is definitely up in the air. Over the past couple of seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Lazard has come into his own as a fairly dependable option for Aaron Rodgers. On a team that features arguably the best receiver in the game in Davante Adams, Lazard turned into the de facto number two option over the past two seasons.
Lazard is just 26 years old, like Gage, and stands a towering 6-foot-5. His size makes him a very desirable outside receiver if he can put it all together. Lazard also possesses rare speed for his size, making him a nice threat downfield at times.
Last season, Lazard had the best year of his young career thus far. In 2021, he caught 40 passes for 513 yards and eight touchdowns. He was only targeted 60 times, but that’s mostly because Adams took up the majority of targets in that passing game.
With Lazard on the outside, along with Mooney, it would give Fields two guys who know how to track deeper passes and allow the team to potentially spend more on a slot guy, or even an additional tight end. Lazard very well could end up back in Green Bay, depending on what happens with Rodgers and if they desire to bring him back. But, he’d be a nice, cheap target for the Bears.
