The Chicago Bears should sign wide receiver Kalif Raymond

If you’re into the underdog-type stories, then Kalif Raymond is your guy. This is a man who has worked his tail off and has never thrown in the towel on his NFL dreams. Raymond was originally undrafted back in 2016 out of Holy Cross, so he already had a tough road ahead coming out of such a small program.

Raymond first signed with the Denver Broncos after going undrafted but was cut prior to Week 1. He went on to have stints with the New York Jets, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans, and most recently the Detroit Lions.

It took five years before Raymond broke out, but he looked like a diamond in the rough last season for fantasy owners at one point. That’s the type of guy who catches your attention — someone who comes out of nowhere and suddenly bursts onto the scene.

His biggest performance last year was a Week 7 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, where Raymond caught six passes for 115 yards.

Raymond is a smaller guy, standing just 5-foot-8, making him a sneaky slot receiver with great top-end speed. As someone with the career he’s had thus far, Raymond would likely come cheaper than anyone on this list. But, he could pay off in a big way with how explosive he’s shown he can be.
