When you look at the offensive roster of the Chicago Bears, there is one thing that stands out — youth. Ryan Poles has plenty of work to do trying to determine which of these young players is worth the time and effort of developing or who is worth cutting. I went through the roster and the team has to focus on two main areas on offense due to lack of bodies and inexperience.

Diving into the offensive roster a bit, the Bears have two legitimate offensive tackles — Teven Jenkins and Larry Borom. Both of them were draft picks in last year’s NFL Draft and didn’t start a full season due to injuries. Clearly, the offensive tackles on this team lack experience and it needs to be one of the main focuses in both the draft and free agency. The team has other offensive linemen who have the ability to play tackle, like Alex Bars, but they need starters.

The wide receiver position isn’t any better. The team has four receivers under contract and only one of them is a starter in Darnell Mooney. Mooney is 24 years old and entering year three. Dazz Newsome (22) was drafted in the sixth round last year. He played in three games and started one. He caught two of five passes for 23 yards — not someone you can count on to start games early in 2022.

The two oldest players worth noting on the offensive side of the roster are Cody Whitehair (29) and Nick Foles (33). Some of the other players and ages worth noting are:

"Justin Fields, QB – 22 years old Cole Kmet, TE – 22 years old David Montgomery, RB – 24 years old Khalil Herbert, RB – 23 years old"

The Chicago Bears look to the 2022 NFL Draft to bring in even more young talent. Without a first-round pick, Ryan Poles will need to work his magic in the later rounds to land players who can contribute as rookies.
