The Chicago Bears revamp the offense in this 2022 NFL mock draft
The Chicago Bears make a trade to move up for a top WR prospect
When we use these mock draft simulators, it is important to point out that sometimes crazy things happen. To see Treylon Burks drop down the list is difficult to understand. He’s not my top prospect at the wide receiver position, but I do have him in my top three. I keep going back and forth between Garrett Wilson and Jameson Williams as my top WR prospect. Currently, Treylon Burks is my number three.
If we look at this year’s WR draft class, I see five for sure first-round options, but there are a few fringe guys like David Bell who are worth taking in the early second. There is a drop off though in my opinion after those top five guys. Those top five guys in order of how I have them ranked at the wide receiver position are:
"1. Garrett Wilson, Ohio State 2. Jameson Williams, Alabama 3. Treylon Burks, Arkansas 4. Chris Olave, Ohio State 5. Drake London, USC"
Although Treylon Burks may not realistically fall down close to the second round, I do believe that one of these five should hit the mid to late 20s and that is prime territory for Ryan Poles to consider moving up in the 2022 NFL Draft.
When Burks was the one of these five to fall, I couldn’t sit there and ignore the situation. Offensive tackle Trevor Penning is another guy I’d consider moving up into the 20s for if he falls. Unfortunately, Penning was already off the board when I mocked a call to the Tennesee Titans to move up. Here was the trade.
What I loved about this was that the Chicago Bears didn’t lose any picks to move up into the first. Instead, they moved back nearly 20 spots in the third round to move up 13 spots from the second into the first. If you want to balk at Burks being here, again, just remember it could be any of these five who fall and all five are worthy of moving up to select at 26th overall.
