The Chicago Bears will be on the prowl to find free agents to fill out a roster that likely will be torn down in most areas. A good portion of the team’s free agents will not return, so they have to turn over every stone to find adequate depth. That means looking into players who may be getting released from their current team. One team to keep an eye on is the New York Giants.

The Giants have cap questions, and with a new General Manager and head coach, they will be doing something similar to Chicago and starting over in some ways. Who are some players that may become free agents soon?

3. Will New York Giants release James Bradberry?

There have already been rumblings about James Bradberry being let go. David Gettleman drafted Bradberry in Carolina and paid him big money in New York, but he is gone now. Bradberry is a great corner but is going to save the Giants $13M to move on from him.

Considering it is a new scheme, and everything, they may be looking to do that. They have shopped him in the trade market, but his contract will make it tough to sell. If they can’t get biters, they will be looking to release him. Teams know this, and like vultures are swarming over the situations, knowing they do not need to make a trade offer.

I do not need to tell you how valuable a cornerback would be to the Chicago Bears right now. They do not have a locked-in starter across from Jaylon Johnson. While the Giants will likely play more man, the Bears are going to be a zone-based team, which could help Bradberry out as he ages in the NFL. He will not be the huge price that the Giants paid, so if he does get released it is worth paying attention to.
