2. Maxx Williams

Maxx Williams is a bit more productive than Darrell Daniels but comes with a similar back story and coaching attachment. Back in 2015, Williams was a second-round pick and many across the NFL saw him as a rising tight end. That never fermented, but he did stick around in the NFL through 2022, and beyond.

Williams did not turn into a trusted starter who makes Pro Bowls, but the reason many like him was his well-rounded game. To this day he still brings that and you could argue that he is a player who is good at everything, but not great at anything.

Still, in the past two seasons, he started to produce some better statistical numbers. Now, he enters free agency, and Jim Dray can surely give Chicago the run down.

Williams could come on a cheap salary but could be a versatile tight end who is a nice fit with Cole Kmet.
