The Chicago Bears will be filling their roster out with a host of free agents. With a new front office and coaching staff, the team will be rebuilding the roster. While they can add free agents from other teams, they should also keep their eyes on players that may be cut candidates. One team would be the Washington Commanders.

Who are some players that may wind up getting let go by the Commanders and becoming a possible cheap free agent for the Chicago Bears?

4. Landon Collins

One player who could be let go in the near future is Landon Collins. Collins never really fit in Washington after a strong start to his career with the Giants. That wound up making him one of the highest-paid safeties in the NFL, which was probably above what he should have been making.

Now Washington has the possibility to save over $11M to move on from him. That comes off as a no-brainer. This does not mean that the Chicago Bears have to pay him that type of money, but rather that he will be coming in at a cheaper cost than that after Washington admits it is too much.

With the Bears, and at a cheaper price you could see Collins as a good fit. To start, he did happen to cross paths with Eddie Jackson when the two were at Alabama. The familiarity has to help, especially if Collins is choosing from a couple of lower offers than expected.

Jackson is more of a centerfielder than anything and Collins almost moved into the box as a linebacker. The team needs safety or a linebacker and being able to add a playmaker that could technically check both boxes would be desirable.

If the Commanders move on from Collins, it is possible he ends up in Chicago.
