1. Chase Roullier

Chase Roullier has been the Washington Commanders’ starting center for the past three seasons. Unfortunately, his 2021 came to an end early when he fractured his fibula. Now, Washington could save $7.3M by moving on from him.

This will be a highly debated topic for the Commanders, because Brandon Scherff is a free agent, and as we mentioned, Ereck Flowers also has a big salary.

Washington would like to keep that group together as much as possible, but will likely have to pick and choose which highly paid interior players they will want to keep, and which they may have to move on from.

The fractured fibula is obviously going to hurt the value of Roullier, but also make him more likely to be cut. At the same time, while this injury is gruesome, it should come with an easier transition to recovery than a ligament injury such as the ACL.

Considering the bone heals, once he is healthy, there should be no lingering effects. I do not need to tell you how much the Chicago Bears need a center. With that in mind, any center that hits the market has to get put under the microscope. That will include keeping an eye on Chase Roullier.
