3 reasons the Chicago Bears have to sign Amari Cooper

Signing Amari Cooper gives the Chicago Bears draft flexibility
Everybody knows, at this point, how strapped the Bears are for capital in this year’s draft. The Bears have just five draft picks, with none in the first, fourth or seventh rounds. Not having a pick in the first or fourth rounds is going to be tough to navigate for Poles and might require the Bears to move back.
If the Bears were to go out and sign Cooper, that would alleviate tons of pressure. Right now, it’s pretty much assumed that the Bears have to draft a wide receiver in the second or third round. If they don’t, then Poles might have been bluffing when he’s talked about his free agency strategy.
The Bears do not have a legitimate number one receiver, and if they don’t go out and sign someone like Cooper or Godwin, then they will be forced to spend high draft capital on a wideout.
Signing Cooper allows the Bears to focus more on positions like the interior offensive line, cornerback, and maybe even linebacker. Safety is also a need, but the Bears will likely go after a free agent there.
