Amari Cooper would be an excellent fit with the Chicago Bears

Currently, the Bears’ top receiver is Darnell Mooney. While Mooney is a talented kid and should be around for a while, he’s very different than Cooper. Mooney is known more as a deep threat and a guy who can stretch the field.

Now, Cooper is plenty fast. If he gets into the open field, Cooper is as dangerous as anybody to take it the distance. However, Cooper functions much better as a guy who can simply get open. Whether it’s on the outside or in the slot, Cooper is a technician. He’s great with footwork and finding a hole in the zone.

Fields needs someone like Cooper to pair with Mooney, and quite frankly, as deep as this receiver class is, adding Cooper would be better than drafting just about any receiver in this year’s class.

Cooper has worked with a mobile quarterback the last few years in Dak Prescott, and with how good Prescott is at extending plays, he knows how to ad-lib in those situations. Cooper would be an excellent fit with Fields, who is savvy in that area as well. Fields knows how to extend plays, and Cooper is smart in those situations.
