5 Arizona Cardinals cut candidates Chicago Bears could sign

1. Does Jordan Hicks fit with Chicago Bears?
The Arizona Cardinals drafted Zaven Collins in the first round with the idea that would be moving on from Jordan Hicks in the near future. Hicks showed up to training camp knowing that the coaching staff wanted Collins to take his job but from day one through the end of the season, that did not happen.
Perhaps that is an issue on the development of Collins, but at the same time, it can be a testament to what Hicks was able to provide last season. Now, the Cardinals could save $6.5M against the salary cap by moving on. It would be a strong testament to their faith in Collins if Hicks were on the roster again next season, so you have to expect to see him available at some point.
This is someone the Bears could be interested in. Hicks is a tackle machine when healthy, and paired next to Roquan Smith, it could take a lot of the burden off of his back. Of course, the Chicago Bears certainly need someone to play next to Smith at the same time.

It could be a nice fit, and while a lot of teams will be spending to fill their starting spots, the Bears could be patient and looking to find a cheap veteran to stick in next to Smith in a smaller role. That is why Hicks could be a great fit.
