3. Is Zaire Franklin a great bargain for Chicago Bears?

Zaire Franklin may be the most likely to be signed by the Chicago Bears, but that is probably because he would serve as depth and a special teams asset. Essentially, over the past couple of years, he has been the Indianapolis Colts version of Joel Iyiegbuniwe. Arguably, an even better option.

At the very least, the Colts have been able to trust him on the field and that is not the case for Iggy. Still, if Franklin comes to the Colts, it will be special teams.

It will also be that the only coaches that he knows in the NFL are now with the Chicago Bears.

Franklin was a seventh-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts in 2018. That was the first season that Matt Eberflus was the defensive coordinator and Dave Borgonzi was the linebacker’s coach.

Franklin spent four years with those two and he made it, beating most odds of a seventh-round pick. He did not become a starter but was active for most of his career.

he has to feel comfortable with these two and they know they have a specific role for him. It is common for lower drafted players such as him to stick to the coaches that bet on him. This could lead to Franklin being depth for the Chicago Bears.
