Chicago Bears draft prospects who dominated Combine: OL Cam Jurgens
Let’s keep it rolling. Eberflus and Poles would love to get their hands on Nebraska’s Cam Jurgens. This is the definition of what they’re looking for up front.
Jurgens is another guy who changed positions over his career, as he is a former tight end turned offensive lineman. Because of his experience at tight end, he’s obviously going to be a bit more athletic than many of his peers.
The Nebraska product stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 307 pounds, bringing tremendous length with 33-inch arms. Jurgens came out at the Combine and turned heads when he ran a startling 4.91 in his 40-yard dash. Now, that’s not all. Jurgens brings speed, but he also put up a respectable 25 reps on the bench press.
Jurgens’ athletic profile is nice, but he’s also of the mentality that he wants to finish his opposing man. After he was done running his 40, he was asked about it by NFL Network’s Stacey Dales and had this to say:
"“I just wanted to run fast. I hate running the 40, I’m glad it’s over. I’d rather hit guys than run drills.'”"
Jurgens solidified himself as a sure-fire Round 4-5 guy with this performance, but very well could see himself go in Round 3. He has plenty of potential as a starter in this league.
