Chicago Bears draft prospects who dominated Combine: WR Alec Pierce
Going back to wide receiver, the Bears need help all over the place. Whether they go after a slot wideout or an outside guy in the draft, the Bears have to look at both — and in free agency too.
One of the prospects who can play both spots, and play them well, is Cincinnati’s Alec Pierce. At 6-foot-3 and 211 pounds, he offers a ton of size at the position. But, he offers more than just size. He’s quick, too.
Pierce ran an impressive 4.41 in his 40-yard dash, and for a guy his size, that was enough to make some pause and applaud.
Pierce is excellent at working the middle of the field, getting open, but he is also a fantastic outside receiver too. It is pretty rare to find a guy so comfortable as an outside deep threat, but equally as effective in the slot, too.
To make this kid even scarier, he leaped to a 40.5-inch vertical and also put up a 129-inch broad jump. He legitimately has everything, athleticism-wise, that the Bears need at the position.
People tend to forget about Cincinnati, who finished as a College Football Playoff team this year, but the last guy you should be sleeping on is Pierce.
