3. Would Justin Houston make sense for Chicago Bears

Of all four of these options, this admittedly feels as though the least likely to wind up with the Chicago Bears. That would mainly be because the team has Robert Quinn, Khalil Mack, Trevis Gipson, and Jeremiah Attachou signed.

Still, Ryan Poles knows Justin Houston well considering he was a prime member of the Chiefs for nearly a decade. Houston was drafted in 2011 when Poles was just a young scout. From 2011 to 2018 Houston and Poles rose up the Chiefs ranks.

Then, in 2019 the Indianapolis Colts signed Houston. Perhaps it was Eberflus calling Poles to return the favor for some good intel on Anthony Hitchens. Either way, Justin Houston signed and played for Matt Eberflus.

Houston was a defensive lineman with the Colts in the 4-3, and the defensive line coach is one of the few hires that was not with the Colts. This one may be more of a notable tidbit if one of the starters got hurt than anything actionable.
