2. Is Damien Wilson a fit with Chicago Bears

Anthony Hitchens is not the only linebacker that the Dallas Cowboys drafted then the Kansas City Chiefs signed. Maybe it was not Ryan Poles making the calls, but someone was getting word from Matt Eberflus to take chances on two linebacker free agents in back-to-back years. That has to make Damien Wilson a player that is likely to end up a Chicago Bears linebacker.

Matt Eberflus was the linebackers coach when Hitchens was drafted in 2014 and when Wilson was drafted the following season. Hitchens signed with the Chiefs in 2018, and Wilson followed in 2019. Matt Eberflus was clearly giving good notes to the Chiefs staff.

Wilson stayed with the Chiefs for two seasons then went to Jacksonville last season. Jacksonville likely hurt his value and now he has to find some stability to get back to being trusted. If there is one name that he may be calling it very well could be Matt Eberflus.

Damien Wilson would make sense for the Bears because they are going to pay Roquan Smith a strong salary, so they may need to find a cheaper, but still reliable option next to him Smith.
