1. Could Chicago Bears sign Eric Fisher?

One of the more interesting decisions would be the decision to bring in Eric Fisher. Ryan Poles was working on the college side when the Kansas City Chiefs signed off to draft Eric Fisher first overall.

While he was not a franchise-changing number one overall pick, he lived up to high first-round status by being a consistent left tackle. While Matt Eberflus was not working on the offensive side of the ball, he saw that the Chiefs only made a tough decision because a devastating injury forced them to.

Eberflus also saw Eric Fisher work back from a devastating injury to play 15 games in 2021. Considering he tore his Achilles in the previous AFC Championship that is a stunning accomplishment. He was not back to his old ways but considering he recovered so fast, being a year removed could be beneficial.

From the Chicago Bears’ perspective, it would be nice to know what they have at left tackle for once. They would be able to move Teven Jenkins back to right tackle, which was likely his best home in the NFL. That could also allow the Bears to push Larry Borom inside to guard, which may be his best long-term bet. It also could let the team move on from James Daniels.

Eric Fisher may be cheaper than Daniels considering the injury status. Having Eberflus and Poles work in a building with Fisher could help their intel and give the Chicago Bears a leg up on a former number one overall pick at left tackle.
