The Chicago Bears are now back from Indianapolis which means finalizing their draft board and getting ready for the main event in less than two months. The NFL combine can be overrated in some regards, but in others can help break ties, or help players stand out as they line up next to their peers. Who are some of the top NFL draft prospects who used this week to gain the most?

5. Cole Strange, C, Chattanooga

The combine is for players such as Cole Strange. Strange is a guard from Chattanooga, so eyes were not on him every single week nationally. He also did not play the best of the best every game either.

With that in mind, his trip to the Senior Bowl and NFL combine may have meant more than others. He aced the Senior Bowl and showed that he can play guard and center. Then, he tested out as one of the better athletes at the combine.

According to RAS scores, he is in the 99.4% of top athletes on the interior offensive line. You knew he stood out when he played against lower-end teams, but now NFL teams can see for themselves that he also stands out as an elite athlete by NFL standards.

The addition of working out as a center during the Senior Bowl and continuing the idea into the combine shows the versatility but also checks a huge box for the Chicago Bears. They need a center, and cannot address with an early pick considering they are out their first-rounder. Looking for gems such as Cole Strange can really make or break drafts, so this is a player to continue to keep an eye on.
