The Chicago Bears land Amari Cooper along with a late-round pick

The Chicago Bears only have five draft picks. If we look at it as the team is getting Amari Cooper for the team’s second-round pick this year — 39th overall — that in itself is exciting. I have five wide receivers for sure going in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. There are still some excellent options who should be there at 39, but none are guaranteed to be as good as Cooper.

I am listing these in the opposite order of how I would start negotiations if I were Ryan Poles. Poles can offer the team’s second-rounder this year and the team’s fourth-round pick next year for Cooper and the Cowboy’s fifth-round pick this year.

A move like this allows the Cowboys to gain a pick next year while moving up from the fifth to the second this year. It would give them two second-round picks in this draft and Jerry Jones can either keep those two or package them to move into the first since they are without a first-round pick. This move also means that the Chicago Bears still have five picks in the draft and could look to grab another wide receiver in either the third or fifth rounds.
