With a new front office and coaching staff in place, the Chicago Bears are set for an offseason that will feature plenty of change. The team has a long list of free agents and holes across the roster to fill. Ryan Poles has said that they will not be the team known as the big free-agent spenders, but at the same time, this year he will have to make plenty of signings just to fill out his roster and establish the new culture.

With that in mind, we are going to look at free agents targets that come across as reasonable. We are not going to have the Chicago Bears breaking the bank for the biggest name, but rather finding scheme fits, values in the market, and other reasons for why players could be strong options to help build the new regime. We will see if any of these ten wind up in Chicago after this year.

10. Is Mark Glowinski a better value for Chicago Bears?

The Chicago Bears are going to have to make a big decision on James Daniels. As more and more free agent ranking lists come out we see James Daniels as the top prize for so many teams with a need on the interior.

There is the issue that with a new regime, new coaching staff, and everything that James Daniels may just want a fresh start. Beyond that, the demand has driven his price to where most assume $10M per year would be a floor.

That alone may have the Chicago Bears considering alternatives. A solid candidate to step in would be Mark Glowinski.

While Matt Eberflus did not coach Glowinski one-on-one, it has to help that the two shared a building last season and they know how each other operates. He may feel comfortable knowing what type of person Eberflus is.

Beyond that, he is expected to get closer to the $5 or $6 million range, which is well below James Daniels. The difference is obvious as James Daniels is 24 going on 25, while Mark Glowinski is 29 going on 30.

Still, despite the age difference if you asked evaluators who were better since 2018, they may tell you, Glowinski, with ease. He is not a long-term solution but could be a cheaper option than James Daniels and could help the team until they can build the line through the draft.
