6. Charvarius Ward could reunite with Chicago Bears new GM

The Chicago Bears have a big need at cornerback as well. Jaylon Johnson is locked into his spot, but no one else can feel as though they are safe with the new front office in place. The team is very likely to sign someone to add to the room. Could that be Charvarius Ward?

Ward was a UDFA who signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and became a starter for the past four years. Ryan Poles was in the rooms that helped sign him and there has to be a sense of pride in watching someone so down on the totem pole rise so high.

Reports are that Ward could get near $10M on an open market. That is what could drive him away from Kansas City, but that is also where the Chicago Bears will have to debate his worth. Ryan Poles may have liked him as a UDFA, but does he like him as a bigger signing?

Ward fell in the draft because he is a bit small, and a step slow. The elite athletes can beat him physically, but he is always in the right spot and is a scrappy fighter.

That is the type of cornerback you would expect Matt Eberflus and Alan Williams to like in their defense as well. The price may be why he is not a lock and a perfect fit with the Chicago Bears, but on paper, there are plenty of reasons to think the interest is mutual.
