With their second pick in the second round, the Bears go with a linebacker to pair alongside Roquan Smith. Wisconsin’s Leo Chenal absolutely dominated the NFL Combine this year, putting himself in rare company.

Chenal is a mean, nasty player who also has the speed and quickness to work the entire field if need be. He’s a guy who could be all over the place for the Bears, similar to Smith. In a 4-3 defense, the Bears will need linebackers with speed and the ability to drop back, and Chenal can do just that.

Chenal stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at 250 pounds. He’s a big, strong frame. But, he also ran his 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds — an incredible number for a man his size.

But, again, in conjunction with his speed comes immense strength. Chenal’s 34 bench reps were eye-popping. His 41-inch vertical? Absolutely bionic. What he did at the Combine was just as impressive as the show Jordan Davis put on, but he’s not being talked about as much.

Last year, Chenal racked up an amazing 115 tackles in total, including 18.5 for a loss. He also tallied 8.0 sacks and a pair of forced fumbles. This is a do-it-all linebacker who loves to get after the football.

Chenal and Smith make this linebacking corps one fun, exciting and hard-hitting bunch.
