Back to the offensive line we go, as the Bears make another trade. This time, it’s with the Baltimore Ravens. Chicago sends Baltimore two fifth-round picks (no. 144 and no. 171) in exchange for a fourth-rounder, pick number 116.

With that selection, the Bears take Kentucky center Luke Fortner, who offers exactly what the Bears want in an interior lineman. The senior stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 307 pounds.

Fortner is an exceptional man off the field and is a team captain. He’s a high-character guy with a whole lot of knowledge upfront. His flexibility will come in handy for Chicago, as Fortner can play both guard and center.

Fortner isn’t as speedy as he is quick if that makes sense. He ran his 40-yard dash in 5.21 seconds. However, his quick footwork is what will really jump out to Poles and Eberflus.

Other great qualities of Fortner include fairly good length and overall awareness. He doesn’t get caught standing around, missing blocks very often Fortner is someone who will make calls and find work.
