With their final pick in the draft, the Bears stay close to home and once more go with an offensive lineman. This time, it is Illinois center Doug Kramer, who won’t have to travel far after being drafted.

Kramer stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 305 lbs. He is a little short for the position and doesn’t offer a ton of length. However, he is a competitor and doesn’t quit. He’s got that type of work ethic and attitude that Eberflus covets in his young guys.

While other prospects struggle to show off anchor strength, Kramer offers an above-average anchor and he sets well. He also has fairly good lateral agility and can move well in short areas.

One area Kramer will need to improve is being the lower man. For a guy who isn’t too tall, Kramer plays pretty high. He has to work on getting his pad level lower. He’ll also need a quicker first step due to his lack of length.

Being that this is a seventh-rounder, the Bears can’t go wrong adding even more competition to their offensive line group.
