Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 6: There looks to be a shift to the offense

If you like offense and who doesn’t, in 2022 (Charlie Daniels drawl) get ready for some FOOTBALL! Presumably, both the Packers and shockingly the Bears in 2022 will likely rely heavily on their offenses to win games. The Bears should have a shot to field an average, perhaps even a slightly above-average, defense in 2022. A big reason for this is Eberflus’ proven track record at producing a quality defense without much star power.

If the Bears’ mantra is truly to feed the growth of Fields in 2022, the top priority for their 2022 additions has to be on offense over defense. The Bears need to do everything humanly possible to get Justin Fields as soon as possible surrounded on offense with quality talent. This will enable him to as quickly as possible start breathing the rare air of being a franchise quarterback.

As this is all in play for the Chicago Bears, up north in Green Bay, I don’t know how the Packers’ defense will end up. However, it sure looks like their defense is going to be taking some big hits to their top talent in order to keep Aaron Rogers and Davante Adams together.

Which gets us to quite the ironic twist of fate. It is very possible we will see some shootouts between the Bears and Packers in 2022 and beyond. Now wouldn’t that be some big-time entertainment, most especially if the Bears win?

Chicago Bears Takeaway No. 7: We won’t miss the missed holding penalties

There is one thing about Khalil Mack leaving the Bears that I will not miss. That is how the referees would often swallow their whistles or get their hands stuck in their pockets and not call holding penalties when it was quite obvious blockers were holding Mack. This has been quite frustrating to watch especially in close games. However, Mack is a great guy, a man to respect, and a future Hall of Famer. His talents and great presence will be missed by Bears fans, his Bears teammates, and his coaches as well.
