JuJu Smith-Schuster is another name the Chicago Bears should consider

Next up on the list for me in the wide receiver, free agency department is JuJu Smith-Schuster. Both Smith-Schuster and Kirk are only 25 years old. Both fit the mold of players who have not lived up to expectations and are in a position to try and hit a big payday on their next contract. I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into a three-year deal max. This allows either of them to hit the market again before they turn 30.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is not the same type of receiver as Kirk obviously. He stands 6’1″ and 215 pounds. Do not mistake his size for an outside receiver presence though. Smith-Schuster also plays best out of the slot. He has very good hands too but is coming off a down year in Pittsburgh. This can be accounted for by a lack of routes that extend him downfield and catching passes from a washed-up Ben Roethlisberger.

Schuster is also coming off of a shoulder injury that kept him out more than half of the season. He only played five games, catching 15 of 28 passes for 129 yards and no touchdowns. His down year and injury could help keep his cost low. For his career though, his catch rate is 68%, and would be a great addition in this receiver room.

That’s another thing, as I am doing these rankings it is accounting for not only talent but also cost. This is why my next receiver comes in lower than my top two.
