The Chicago Bears spent on the first day of free agency, something many thought may not happen. Still, while the team did add a big name, they also have plenty of holes on the roster that still need work. With that in mind, the team is going to hit the second wave of free agency as hard, or harder than they did today.

Who are five free agents that have not been signed yet that still make sense with the Chicago Bears?

5. Bradley Bozeman, C, Baltimore Ravens

The Chicago Bears’ need at center is rather obvious. When the team went trenches for their first big signing this offseason you could have thought that center would have been the move and not defensive tackle.

Needless to say, now that defensive tackle has been taken care of, they still need a center. The one issue with their need for a center is that some of the big names came off of the board quickly.

First, Ryan Jensen was retained by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Ben Jones stayed in Tennessee not long after. Then, the Rams retained Brian Allen. These teams all got to keep their centers, making even fewer possibilities for the Chicago Bears.

Bradley Bozeman makes sense in plenty of ways. To start, he could be the Ryan Jensen player, who started his career in Baltimore, then saw his best days come afterward. Beyond that, he has worked with a mobile quarterback in Lamar Jackson, so he is used to quarterbacks extending the play.

The flaw on Bozeman is that while he started at center last year, most of his first three seasons saw him at guard. Are teams afraid to pay for the one year at center? Is this creating a buying opportunity for the Chicago Bears?
