The list of free-agent wide receivers has dwindled and dwindled. First, it was the franchise tags taking out Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, and Mike Williams. Then, Christian Kirk got an absolutely ridiculous contract.

That did not stop the madness, as Michael Gallup signed, Amari Cooper was traded, and DJ Chark recently went to the rival Detroit Lions. All of the sudden the wide receiver market is starting to thin out.

That leaves us with JuJu Smith-Schuster as the top option. There are pros and cons to singing Smith-Schuster, but if his market is starting to slow down, it may make him a bargain.

The last two years for Smith-Schuster are not what he wanted, but injuries and quarterback play held him back for the most part. An argument is that while Ben Roethlisberger could only check the ball down, a gunslinging Justin Fields may turn the career of Smith-Schuster around.

The flip side is that the injuries have slowed him down, and nobody is responsible for those but himself.

The Chicago Bears need a slot, and now there is not a better option available. If the market is cooled, maybe it is time for the Bears to enter and offer JuJu Smith-Schuster a contract.
