If Chicago Bears fans had a say in who the team drafted this year, what would that look like? While that fantasy situation is unlikely, I decided to ask for their input regardless.

The Bears are currently set to have six 2022 draft picks in this year’s NFL Draft. That includes the following selections:

  • Round 2: Pick No. 39 and 48
  • Round 3: Pick No. 71
  • Round 5: Pick No. 148 and 150
  • Round 6: Pick No. 186

Using Twitter polls, I had Bears fans pick their choice of four positional groups. This would occur for all six of the team’s selections, with some options varying. The results are here:

  • Round 2, Pick No. 39: Wide Receiver
  • Round 2, Pick No. 48: Wide Receiver
  • Round 3, Pick No. 71: Offensive Tackle
  • Round 5, Pick No. 148: Cornerback*
  • Round 5, Pick No. 150: Safety
  • Round 6, Pick No. 186

(for pick 148, there was a three-way tie that was decided by spinning a wheel)

Now, this system by no means is perfect. There are some restrictions, as Twitter only allows four options per poll, limiting how many positional groups fans could pick from. There’s also the situation of a tie happening, which occurred with the Bears’ first fifth-round pick. Lastly, I allowed no trades down or up, which may limit what people want or change their choices.

With that all said, Bears fans are officially on the clock!
