Chicago Bears: Round 2, Pick No. 39

All signs seem to point to the Chicago Bears selecting a wide receiver early to give quarterback Justin Fields a solid and young weapon. If that player happens to be Jahan Dotson, it would be an absolute steal.

The edge Dotson can get with his blazing speed and route-running abilities allowed him to be a very productive player during his collegiate years. Penn State’s scheme allowed Dotson to take full advantage of more spacing. This allowed him to average 13 yards per reception in 2021. He was also an absolute menace in shorter passing routes and combinations. Dotson also only had two drops this entire season out of 138 targets according to PFF.

In a deep receiver class, a player like Dotson falling to Chicago would be a dream come true. Dotson is a confident and competitive player who would pair well with Darnell Mooney. The Chicago Bears need their next WR1, and that can absolutely be Watson.
