Top 5 realistic wide receiver options for Chicago Bears in 2022 NFL Draft
By Ryan Heckman
Christian Watson is a realistic 2022 draft target for the Chicago Bears
Lastly, we come to one of the biggest draft risers of the past month or two. North Dakota State’s Christian Watson has everything you’re looking for in a true number one wide receiver, but he’s spent his time playing against far lesser competition in college.
Now, the 6-foot-4 Watson has done exactly what he was supposed to do playing against that type of competition: dominate.
He looked like a mismatch no matter who was covering him at the collegiate level, and any questions about whether he could translate to the NFL, Watson did his best to answer at the Combine.
When he tested, Watson blew the Combine out of the water. With his size, he still ran a ridiculous 4.36. As a 6-foot-4 towering receiver, that type of speed is extremely rare. To be able to give Fields a deep threat, with that size, is a tantalizing thought.
But, Watson also has great hands and works his tail off. He’s known as one of the hardest workers in his locker room, as well as one of the clear-cut leaders amongst his teammates. Watson is a high-character, high-potential kid who is being mocked anywhere from the second to third rounds right now.
If the Bears want a good value at possibly snagging one of the draft’s biggest steals, Watson would be one heck of a pick.
