It seems like every day the NFL says “hold my beer” to itself as breaking news breaks over and over again. Yesterday, Tyreek Hill was traded from the Chiefs to the Dolphins. We have seen Russell Wilson traded from the Seahawks to the Broncos. We have seen Carson Wentz moved again — this time from the Colts to the Commanders (can we just keep calling them the Football Team?). We then saw Matt Ryan moved from the Falcons to the Colts. Even the Chicago Bears have been in on the action by trading Khalil Mack to the Chargers.

That list isn’t all by the way. We have seen Amari Cooper, Davante Adams, Yannick Ngakoue, and Deshaun Watson all traded this offseason too. We are likely to see Baker Mayfield on the move and there are still some rumors that Jimmy Garoppolo could be a trade piece.

The wide receiver moves are telling though and if the Chicago Bears are to be looking at the 2022 NFL Draft to find their next WR1 to play with Darnell Mooney, then Ryan Poles may need to be a little more aggressive than he has shown thus far this offseason.

When I started this project, Tyreek Hill had not been traded yet. Moving Hill to the Dolphins likely means that the Chiefs will look to draft another wide receiver early in the draft. The 2022 NFL Draft is deep at the receiver position. There are many ways for things to go come the end of April. In fact, we have no clue if Ryan Poles is even considering a wide receiver early.

Let’s see how the teams in the NFC North are being mocked this offseason to see which picks and teams might snipe the Bears.
